[ good news: tonight is one of those nights that Majima has been coaxed into bed for some sleep.

bad news: the sleep tonight seems really shitty. like tossing-and-turning-and-kicking-your-partner shitty.

hmm. ]

[he's a light sleeper, so all it takes is one kick to startle him awake, tense and—. . . oh.

His arm shifts and tightens around him for a moment. Then, he moves his hand to rub at his back, between his shoulders to see if that might settle him down]

[ it actually just makes him tense up and thrash even more. oops. ]

He frowns but stops rubbing his back, instead just moving back around him. He gives him a little squeeze instead. He remembers something about not waking people up from nightmares, but . . . ]

After a moment of debate, he leans down a bit and, softly:]

Bro, wake up.

[ fortunately, his voice cuts through whatever's going on in there.

his eye snaps open, though he remains very, very still. ]

[he might feel Saejima's arm tense like he's going to move it, but instead he stays still too]

[ . . . exhales, lifting a hand to his face. ]

[he shifts a bit to see him better]

Sorry to wake ya, but y'were havin' a bad dream.

[ he is 1000% shaking and just trying to breathe. ]

[a little huff, as if to say "yeah, stating the obvious"]

. . . deep breaths, bro.

continues to do this over and over for a few minutes. ]

[after the first few breaths, he murmurs a soft "there you go", but otherwise keeps his mouth shut, watching quietly]

[ pushes himself up and stumbles out of bed, heading for the door so he can make a beeline for the bathroom.

he's wearing pants, it's fine. ]

[uuughh. He pushes himself up to sit on the edge of the bed, dragging a hand over his face]

[ he takes about five minutes to empty the contents of his stomach.

and then shuffles back into the room, quietly closing the door behind him. ]

[glances up when he returns, frowning in concern as he watches him]

[ pauses, like he's debating on what to do.

then just tiredly crawls back into bed. ]

[he shifts to lay back down too, on his side and facing him. His hand briefly lifts like it might reach over before he draws it back]

. . . real bad one, eh.

Real fuckin' bad.

[ eyes his hand quietly for a moment, but doesn't move. ]

[considering . . . he doesn't reach over to touch him or ask to, considering what he said in his sleep. But he offers his hand instead]

Should I wake ya up if those happen, or leave ya be?

Wake me up. Get me the fuck outta there.

[ grabs his hand, grip tight. ]

[grips it back just as tightly]

'Kay. Anythin' I shouldn't do?
